Welcome to the Harambee Child Development Center (HCDC) web site! HCDC opened
its doors in October 2004. It is a job creation and early childhood development
initiative of the Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action, Inc. (KISRA). KISRA is the faith-based and community-serving
arm of Ferguson Memorial
Baptist Church, where Rt. Rev. Emanuel Alphonso Heyliger has served as senior
pastor since May 1980. The mission of KISRA is to assess, develop and
implement educational and socio-economic initiatives that empower and serve the
people of our community. Towards this end, our initiatives are in the
areas of education, employment and economic empowerment. To learn more about
KISRA checkout www.kisra.org.
